Calculatrix

 

Calculatrix features one-touch Paper Tape Numeric Storage (PTNS).

In other words, simply touch a result from an earlier calculation located anywhere on the paper tape. Calculatrix brings that number into your calculation without any menus.

Paper Tape Numeric Storage gives flexibility to everyday calculations...the paper tape is an infinite numeric storage area with all your prior numbers and results both visible and available for re-use.

Paper Tape Numeric Storage (PTNS):

  • a single touch of any number on the paper tape inserts it instantly into the current calculation without any menus
Hide Rows of Keys to Expose More Paper Tape:
  • slide the LCD display up until the keys are sized the way you want. Then slide the LCD display down until 1, 2 or up to 3 rows of keys are hidden. Release your finger while the background is red.
  • HINT: re-arrange the keyboard layout so the keys that you need are showing.

Adjust Font Size and Line Spacing of the Paper Tape:

  • use the options in the Hidden Borg View tab to adjust both paper tape line spacing and font size.
Double-tap the LCD display to clear the paper tape.
 
Touch and move the LCD up for bigger keys or down to show more paper tape.

  • 25 scientific keys on the left-side keyboard include all standard trig and hyperbolic functions, gamma (x!), y^x, x^2, sqrt, y^(1/x), 10^x, e^x, log, ln, logx/logy, e, pi, and random number. Trigonometric domains include both radians and degrees, or, convert between them.
  • International users can display 1000's and decimal symbols for their locale (settings > general > international > region format).

Q1. How does Calculatrix differ from the PaperCalc series of calculators?
A1. Calculatrix has been designed specifically to exploit its Paper Tape Numeric Storage (PTNS) without the need for intermediate menus. The more general PaperCalc calculators from Interlocken Corp. offer PTNS but require 1-3 menus to recover a number.

Q2. How do I bring a number from the paper tape into my current calculation?
A2. Just touch any number on the paper tape.

Q3. How can I quickly clear the paper tape?
A3. Make sure the option to 'Double Tap the LCD to Clear' is ON (see the right-side scroll page). Then just double-tap the LCD display to clear the paper tape.

Q4. How do I use the '%' key?
A4. There are two ways to use the % key:

1. Obtain the % of a number:

- Press '200 % 5 ='
- Answer will be '10'
- PaperCalc took 5% of 200.

2. The % of a number is used in the operation on the number:

- Press: '200 - 5 % ='
- Answer will be '190'
- PaperCalc subtracted 5% of 200 from 200

Q5. How do I customize the keyboard layout?
A5. Press the large "i" (info) key. Select "Edit Keyboard Layout". Then touch and move keys to change locations. Tap keys to change sizes. 'Blast' keys through to the other keyboard. Save custom keyboard layouts and rename them for later use.
